Installing an HP ScanJet G4010 Scanner in CentOS 7

Surprisingly, installing an HP ScanJet G4010 Scanner in CentOS 7, was easy.

Which is odd, as you would think it would be complicated.

After wiping and re-installing CentOS7 on my workstation, I realized that you have to have the EPEL Repository installed, prior to following the instructions listed below.

Enable the EPEL Repository

We just have to install one application, and there is no command line involved:

  System Tools
  Application Installer
    Categories : Graphics
    Simple Scan

Then plug in the scanner and turn it on.

That’s it.

Oh, Linux! *tsk*tsk* Setting up a printer – ridiculously complex. Setting up a scanner – ridiculously simple.
